Abbey Carter
A mainlander who moved to Auckland in 2006 with every intention of working in journalism, I ended up having an 18 month dalliance with a full-service ad agency, working in their media buying team.
It was here that I got a real taste for the world of media and fell in love with the industry. It would be fair to say, like many, I ‘fell’ into recruitment, and it speaks volumes that over a decade later, I’m still here!
Transitioning from working in media, to recruitment for the industry that I love has provided me with a hugely rewarding career, working with some exceptionally talented people, and fantastic clients.
My role is to connect. Great people, great companies and great opportunities. My focus is nurturing new talent, and finding new challenges for established communications professionals. My passion is seeing these come together, with a positive outcome for both client and candidate, and watching them flourish.

Anna Barker
My first job out of AUT was in an advertising agency, working as a Media Assistant - over 20 years ago! Since then, I have been incredibly fortunate to have worked in a number of leading media and full service agencies in the market, and with the best colleagues and clients along the way.
Having such an in-depth understanding of the roles that I had worked in, as well as agency expectation and culture, was a real bonus when making the shift across to recruitment back in 2010. I work with all the top media and digital agencies in the market, as well as recruiting marketing, admin and e-commerce roles.
The opportunity arose back in 2012 for Abbey and I to buy shares in to Jobmedia and we’ve never looked back! I love meeting with people, hearing their stories and work history, and finding out what their personal aspirations and career goals are. It is a privilege to work closely with our clients and candidates, being a trusted partner and advisor, to deliver best results for all.
